Ramases - Glass Top Coffin (1975). Songs in album Ramases - Glass Top Coffin (1975).
Only for completionists (0%). Martin Raphael aka the reincarnated Pharaoh known as Ramases, seems to have both refined his musical talents and toned down his astral-religious message for this, his second and final album. If so this sort of backfired with Ramases since the album sank like a stone on release and the guy was never heard from again. But anyway, what’s here is pretty decent and I like to play it. This was a very late discovery for me (as in – this year), because I’d never heard of this guy back in the seventies, and probably wouldn’t have liked his music then even if I had heard it.

Glass Top Coffin (1975). Only the Loneliest Feeling.
A very different album from its predecessor (despite packaging in an equally captivating sleeve), Glass Top Coffin relies on orchestration for its punch, conjuring images of a downbeat Moody Blues as Ramases and Sel trade vocals across some almost heartstoppingly melancholic pastures - "Long Long Time" and "Only the Loneliest Feeling" paramount among them.
Glass Top Coffin (Back). Rare: This album is quite rare and is worth a bit on the collector’s market, more so in fact than ‘Space Hymns’. Leon Economides, January 1999
