Peggy Lee. Golden Greats.

20 Golden Greats (also known as Buddy Holly Lives) is a greatest hits album by American Buddy Holly & the Crickets first released in the United Kingdom by EMI on February 17, 1978. The songs on the UK release were licensed to EMI by MCA Records, who released the album in North America. The album is now out of print.

Album Rendezvous with Peggy Lee. Golden Earrings Lyrics. There's a story the gypsies know is true That when your love wears golden earrings He belongs to you. An old love story that's known to very few But if you wear those golden earrings Love will come to you. By the burning fire, they will glow with ev'ry coal You will hear desire whisper low inside your soul. So be my gypsy; Make love your guiding light And let this pair of golden earrings Cast their spell tonight. Golden Earrings" Track Info.

Peggy Lee interpreted two of them, and one ("Bali Ha'i") is part of the present session. For details about the other Peggy Lee performance included in this album ("I'm Gonna Wash That Man Right Outta My Hair"), see session dated April 18, 1949  . Those post-78-rpm album versions are actually twofers: they combine Manhattan Tower with California (The Golden State), a similar work that Jenkins had co-written with Tom Adair.
