Be-Bop Deluxe were an English progressive rock band who achieved critical acclaim and moderate commercial success during the mid to late 1970s. The band's sound emerged as a mixture of glam rock, prog rock and straightforward rock and roll. Science fiction imagery was common in the lyrics, along with the more traditional themes of love and the human condition.
Audio CD, Live, June 3, 2002. If you love Be Bop Deluxe, you will not be disappointed. Even if you are not a fan, the brilliant songwriting, unforgettable hooks and searing guitar will leave you wanting more. 9 people found this helpful.
Regardless, this set will be valued by committed Be Bop Deluxe fans, since the sound is good and the performances are quite accomplished given how complex the arrangements were. The music's not going to make listeners feel differently one way or the other if they're already familiar with the group's studio releases. It's oddball mid-'70s British rock, not conveniently categorized into glam rock, art rock, or AOR rock, though it's got plenty of trappings of all of those subgenres
