Composed by frequent Bryan Singer collaborator John Ottman (who also composed the music for The Usual Suspects), the X2 score is positively seething with dramatic tension, mirroring the more personal and plaintive feeling of the series. Ottman seems to understand the difference in tone between the X-Men continuum and the rest of the Marvel world, and the somewhat understated tone of the score lends an air of humanity to a film that asks questions about what makes someone human to begin with.

The few Apocalypse chorale themes are definitely something new and worth checking out though! :) 4/5.
