My good friend easygroove played it back when it was first released Unbelievable Respect the techno

As pure techno tracks go, Axis is definitely in my top ten all time favorites, and no one plays this track quite like Jeff Mills does!

does anyone else have a copy of these that is not bright green like the ltd edition but only glows green when held to a light

Yes, I have it's much darker than on the picture.

I think, Trak is one of the blueprints of techno and one of the best tracks ever made. It has always had a feeling to me that it was born out of one live moment. You can dance to it or just listen and enjoy how great the multiple, strange sounding sequences twirling into another. And even if the sequences sound totally strange and almost alien-like, they have a real deep warmth. And there is another point making it outstanding: Although one could think that techno needs a hard beat to be techno the bassdrums are mixed in the background, only slightly shimmering through in the breaks. An absolutely timeless masterpiece.

wow you've never heard someone murder all over the beat until you've heard phylyps trak

This record, side A, really got me into techno. This one track changed it all. Back in 93, when everything was new, black, polished and chrome ... and the nights never ended ... // How can anyone sell this record?!

Absolutely essential for any techno collection, all 3 trax superb, music for the underground dancefloor!

What a fantastic track, one that exudes warmth and bites like a cold wind at the same time sending shivers down your spine ... it will envelop you in a fuzzy thick blanket of sound and move you like a tree being pulled by the wind and lashed by the rain on a baron landscape ... it is always dark, it pounds and rattles, swirling, surging, vibrating all around you, seemingly relentless and yet you never want it to end. As awesome 15 years on as it was when released in 1993, this is a passage to technos forever molten core ... it will burn bright into the night forever

ok, maybe I was trying a bit too hard and shouldn't give up my day-job to write discogs reviews but I could say 'it's just brilliant techno' about all the techno I have bought over the years and it wouldn't really tell anyone who hadn't heard the track that much would it! You can use the vote system to say that - 5. Trying to capture some of the mood/feel of the track is all (and shout about the timeless elemental effectiveness [QualityAssured to you] for me personally) - if you have any more insults in that tiny brain of yours, save them and come find me - I guarrantee you will get a considerably more interesting response, delivering them to my face (((>_<)))

This is one of the best techno records ever produced. A timeless track which outshines all other Basic Channel releases. Even after listening to it for the 100th time, it still is a dark, atmospheric, mindblowing, hard piece of electronic music.

I always remember listening to this whilst at the peak of a heroic dose of mushrooms. It was prior to it's release from a cassette I recorded off the radio so at the the time it was pretty fresh and sounded amazing. Gritty and upbeat, giving real form to the then developing Basic Channel sound, I still find it inspiring today.
