A mandoline is a cooking utensil used for slicing and for cutting juliennes; with suitable attachments, it can make crinkle-cuts. Its name is derived from the wrist-motion of a skilled user of a mandolin, which resembles that of a player of the musical instrument mandolin. A mandoline consists of two parallel working surfaces, one of which can be adjusted in height. A food item is slid along the adjustable surface until it reaches a blade mounted on the fixed surface, slicing it and letting it fall.

A fabulous, authentic family-run Italian restaurant. The best restaurant experience that my family and I had on a recent holiday in Sapri - so much so that we dined here on three occasions. The location is quirky but charming with the outdoor seating area positioned across a narrow street from the kitchen. Opposite is the modern outdoor theatre area of Sapri and the train station is also nearby. The service in Jolly is superb. Fabulous pizzas, delicious pasta, wonderfully fresh seafood and the best ice cream that we tasted while in Italy - and all for a fraction of what you would expect to pay in Ireland (Pizza Margherita at €. 0!). Our kids also loved the food and we found Jolly to be the perfect place for a family to relax, unwind and enjoy a delicious meal together at the end of a busy day on the beach!
