Bruce & Bongo was a popular '80s Germany-based pop duo best known in Europe for the hit single "Geil. The duo consisted of musician/singer Bruce Hammond Earlam and musician/singer Douglas "Bongo" Wilgrove, both from Britain. While the act is considered to be a German-based act, Earlam and Wilgrove are in fact from the United Kingdom. The "Geil" single spent four weeks at No. 1 Germany in 1986. Bruce and Bongo were a 1980s British electronic, New Wave duo consisting of Bruce Hammond Earlam (born January 13, 1955) and Douglas Wilgrove (born March 19, 1955). The pair are best known internationally for their 1986 hit "Geil". The German word 'geil' means 'cool' or 'awesome'. In Dutch however it's become to mean 'horny'. The song charted in several countries around Europe. The song was released alongside their most successful album, The Geil Album.
