House of God is the ninth studio album by the heavy metal band King Diamond, released in 2000. The album was remastered by Andy LaRocque and was re-released in 2009. House of God is the only album to feature guitarist Glen Drover and bassist Paul David Harbour and the last to feature drummer John Luke Hébert. The album's storyline is loosely based on the legend of Rennes-le-Château.

This pretentious, epic, almost sappy concept record follows lyrical suit with King Diamond's previous offerings, however, House of God lacks the musical commitment of the artist's best recordings, Them and Abigal. Rare in his ability to manage a successful solo career with a long-time band partnership, King Diamond was very busy releasing numerous albums, both on his own and with Mercyful Fate in the '90s. Quantity might have taken precedence of quality as the prolific vocalist and songwriter ended up offering several sub par discs during this period

House Of God' is undoubtedly one of King's best releases. However it also marks in my opinion the end of the best part of his career. Like most of King Diamond's work, it's a concept album, with some would say a modern subject which gained a lot of hype due to a lot of books and films about it. Nevertheless the plot is solid and is told again from King's point of view, who now impersonates a traveler in Southern France
