Zombie is a studio album by Nigerian Afrobeat musician Fela Kuti. It was released in Nigeria by Coconut Records in 1976, and in the United Kingdom by Creole Records in 1976. The album criticised the Nigerian government; and it is thought to have resulted in the murder of Kuti's mother Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti, and the destruction of his commune by the military.
Authority Stealing (1980) by Fela Kuti, released 14 September 2010 1. Authority Stealing (Parts 1 & 2) Authority Stealing consists of one solid, groovy 24-minute track again criticizing the ruling class and the Nigerian authorities for abusing power and acquiring wealth at the expense of the Nigerian populace, comparing them to armed robbers. If gun steal eighty thousand Naira, Fela sings, the pens of the authorities in charge of the country’s coffers go steal two billion Naira. And, he continues, no one says anything about it.
