Taxman" is a song by the English rock band the Beatles and released as the opening track on their 1966 album Revolver. Written by the group's lead guitarist George Harrison, its lyrics attack the high levels of progressive tax taken by the British Labour government of Harold Wilson. Harrison said, "'Taxman' was when I first realized that even though we had started earning money, we were actually giving most of it away in taxes. It was and still is typical

It wasn't just Lennon and McCartney, either - Harrison staked out his own dark territory with the tightly wound, cynical rocker "Taxman"; the jaunty yet dissonant "I Want to Tell You"; and "Love You To," George's first and best foray into Indian music. Such explorations were bold, yet they were eclipsed by Lennon's trippy kaleidoscopes of sound.

Lively is the fifth album by the North Carolina band Arrogance, released in 1981 (see 1981 in music). It was recorded live in March 1981 around various clubs in North Carolina. Most of these songs were unreleased at the time of its release, although a few existed as singles or B-Sides. Some also existed as unreleased demos. In its initial release, a bonus "Dog Breath" EP (referring to their pre-Arrogance band name) was included, which featured six 1960s cover songs such as "Born to Be Wild.

Revolver is the only album on which Harrison has three songs. On all the others he only has two or fewer. On The White Album he had four, but it was a double album so he was only allotted his usual one track per side. Paul played lead guitar on 'Taxman,' and he played guitar - a good part - on 'Drive My Ca. Jeff Emerick said in his book on recording the Beatles that Harrison just couldn't get the solo right, so Paul played most of the guitar parts, including the solo. Alan from City, MiGeorge wrote Don't Bother Me and then didn't get anything on an album for awhile. Usually two, only one track on Sgt. Pepper.
