Stone Age is a compilation by The Rolling Stones released on the Decca label in 1971. It reached on the UK charts. The Stones were strongly against this release. In full-page ads in Record Mirror and NME on 20 March 1971, they stated, "We didn't know this record was going to be released. It is, in our opinion, below the standard we try to keep up, both in choice of content and cover design.

In fact, Stone Age, like several other of the earliest collections in this sequence, is a rather enjoyable romp through the group's 1964-1966 archive, and includes no less than three tracks that had hitherto avoided .

Группы The Rolling Stones. 1964 - 12 x 5. 1964 - England& Newest Hit Makers. 1964 - Rolling Stones. 1965 - December& Children. 1965 - Now! 1965 - Out of Our Heads. 1965 - The Rolling Stones 2. 1966 - Aftermath. 1966 - Aftermath (US). 1967 - Between the Buttons. 1967 - Their Satanic Majesties Request. 1968 - Beggars Banquet. 1968 - Jumpin& Jack Flash, Child Of The Moon. 1971 - Sticky Fingers.

Flowers (The Rolling Stones album). Flowers is an American compilation album by The Rolling Stones, released in the summer of 1967. The songs either appeared as singles, had been omitted from the American versions of Aftermath and Between the Buttons, were collected from studio sessions dating back to 1965, or are reissues of songs recently released on other albums.

The Stones' most downbeat, druggy album, with new guitarist Mick Taylor stretching into jazz and country. Key Track: "Brown Sugar" was the big hit, but "Sway" is one of the band's spookiest pro-evil anthems. Best Keith Moment: His guitar battle with Taylor throughout "Bitch. Between the Buttons’ (1967). Key Track: "Something Happened to Me Yesterday," an old-time music-hall ditty about an acid trip. Best Mick Moment: The slobbering lust of "My Obsession.

STONE AGE The Rolling Stones This is an original Decca stereo Test Pressing (n sample) of the 1971 'Stone Age' compilation album with promo booklet. The Label on this pressing carries a working title of 'PRECIOUS STONES' (see photograph) but the catalogue number and content of the record remains as the final release - this was probably just a change of mind by Decca but makes this particular LP just a little more interesting

The last official album was A Bigger Bang from 2005, and they've more or less stopped making new stuff since. The Beatles quit the concerts to concentrate on the studio. The Stones, being the live band they always were, quit the studio to concentrate on the concerts.
