Make Up is the fourth album by Japanese rock band Flower Travellin' Band, released in 1973. It is a double album, featuring both live and studio recordings. After returning from Canada, Flower Travellin' Band began a new album. The mix of live and studio recordings was planned from the beginning. Wanting a mix of sounds, they tried acoustic pieces and experimented with material that would be hard to reproduce live. Growing as a band and as individuals, more individual contributions were made.

Flower Travellin' Band (フラワー・トラベリン・バンド Furawā Toraberin Bando) were a Japanese rock band that was formed in 1967. They were connected to Japan's counterculture movement and noted for their mixture of early heavy metal with psychedelic and progressive rock. They received wide acclaim from critics but failed to achieve commercial success and separated in 1973 to pursue individual careers. The band reunited in late 2007, but permanently disbanded after the 2011 death of vocalist Joe Yamanaka.

Make Up is a music studio album recording by FLOWER TRAVELLIN' BAND (Psychedelic/Space Rock/Progressive Rock) released in 1973 on cd, lp, vinyl and/or cassette. When reading about the conception of the album you understand why. Apparently Flower Travellin' Band was obligated to produce a double album. Well, that's nothing strange about that. Many a band have done that.

Flower Travellin' Band had followed the seismic proto-prog metal of 1971's career-defining Satori album by allowing themselves to be significantly neutered by a jazz-loving keyboard-playing producer on 1972's inconsistent Made in Japan - which was in fact recorded in Canada  . So even though some of these issues were deflected upon release by Make Up's peerless packaging inside a leather-bound attaché case, the album's eventual commercial and artistic failures would result - in a tragic twist of fate, or at least of title - in Flower Travellin' Band's breakup.
