The Bushmen had one release Baby, What I Have I’ll Give to You on Dimension 1049 in June of ’65. Dimension Records was part of the Columbia Pictures, Colpix company at this time. Bill Lincoln had relocated from Seattle to Los Angeles. He must have been in the group at this point as he is the composer of What I Have I’ll Give to You. I hear music that may be the Bushmen, but haven’t seen any footage of the band. In addition to the Bushmen single, Watt and Lincoln recorded their original songs as the War-Babies Jeanie’s Pub, Love Is Love (Highland 4000, August 1965). Potter’s bio continues
The Bushmen are the indigenous peoples of southern Africa. Largely hunter-gatherers, their territory spans several nations and they have called the region home for tens of thousands of years. The tribes are well-known for the profound connection they have with their land, for their intimate knowledge of the natural world, and the delicate balance they have maintained for millennia with the environment. Unlike Pygmy music, the music of the Namibia Bushmen is not polyphonic. Songs are based in one part and materialized simultaneously with variants of low, medium, and high. It may sound rather elementary, and indeed it is, but it is far from boring. The songs included here, all of them in chant form, are for initiations of boys and girls into the tribe as adults, for healing, and for conversation (in which gossip is exchanged)

It is the new home of the Basarwa - Kalahari Bushmen, southern Africa's first inhabitants and yet they do not take much pleasure in this honour. Sisters Boitumelo Lobelo, 25, and Goiotseone Lobelo, 21, are kneeling in front of a basin of dirty water, washing their children's clothes. Their eyes fill with anger when they speak of their life here, a desolate village half a day's drive from their original home, which is now part of the Central Kalahari Game Reserve (CKGR). The Bushmen are a people indigenous to the Kalahari Desert in Africa, with a territory covering parts of South Africa, Namibia, Angola and Botswana. Historically, they are a hunting-gathering society, but with western colonization, many have been forced from their traditions. It is commonly believed that these people have inhabited the African continent for more than 22,000 years, and some archaeologists believe that they are the oldest group on earth. Bushmen are descended from the Khoisan ethnic group, related to the Khoikhoi.
