The single "Dämmerung," an amalgam of techno, acid and big beats, made waves after its inclusion on Sasha & Digweed's Northern Exposure, Vol. 2. The self-titled debut Frontside album appeared in America on Wax Trax! in 1999.

Frontside's debut album is an intriguing blend of mainstream club grooves, big-beat mayhem reminiscent of the Chemical Brothers, and a distinctive brand of acid-techno that works best on the single "Dämmerung. The rest of the album never lives up to the promise of the single (and is a bit overlong at that), but Frontside is a solid debut.

Mysterious Wrench

Absolute peak time sasha and digweed track this, drop this at 5 in the morning and its absolute euphoria, possibly one of the greatest chilled out prog/breakbeat tracks of the later half of the 1990s. Apparently frontside gave sasha a test pressing of this record to see what he thought, after about 2 minutes sasha said he was hooked and immediately put it in his box and later on the Northern Exposure 2 cd. This record shifted for some serious coin on its release (HTFR were selling this for £100 six years ago) but the price has fallen due to subsequent bootleg presses which are probably shit quality. For me its the vocals over the beats which make this track (i cant quite work out exactly what the vocals are) but who cares. All sasha/ digweed fans need this...you won't be disappointed ;)
