This excellent LP collects together some of Benny Goodman's best early recordings, all cut at least a few years before he became known as The King of Swing and also co-starring the great trombonist/singer Jack Teagarden. Throughout, Goodman (just barely out of his teens) and Teagarden, (along with other talented jazzmen then earning a living as studio musicians), seem overjoyed to be able to play jazz. This is highly enjoyable music that serves as a fine introduction to early pre-swing jazz.
