CLAUDIA MUZIO's "Cavalleria" aria in a sense commemorates her Met finale. Another recording of spectacular presence, this was captured two years before her untimely demise at age 44. TITO SCHIPA possessed perfect tremolo and a dynamic voice of exquisite beauty. MAGGIE TEYTE (nee Tate) was 56 when this side was waxed. Hers is a heavy soprano.
