Spinout is a 1966 American musical film and comedy starring Elvis Presley as the lead singer of a band and part-time race car driver. The film was on the year-end list of the top-grossing films of 1966. It was titled California Holiday in the UK. Mike McCoy (Elvis Presley), the lead singer for a traveling band who is also a part-time race car driver, enjoys his carefree single life, which is threatened by three different women who seek to marry him.

The single from the album was "Spinout" with "All That I Am" on the b-side. Both of these songs are good, but it was one of Presley's least succesful singles, with the a-side barely making the Top 40 and the b-side barely missing it. The only other good song from the movie was the pretty ballad "Am I Ready". The rest of the songs are rather ridiculous, which should be evident by such titles as "Adam and Evil", "Beach Shack" and "Smorgasboard". Perhaps best is "All That I Am," a gentle ballad with a few added strings. Never Say Yes," an energetic rocker with a "Bo Diddley" beat, is classic '60s Elvis. On the sweetly crooned "Am I Ready," the King is backed by the Jordanaires and Floyd Cramer playing single note 6/8 piano chords.
