A Musical clock is a clock that marks the hours of the day with a musical tune played from a spiked cylinder either on bells, organ pipes, bellows, combs and even dulcimer strings. Mozart was a musical genius. Most of his works became well-known after his death and today, people of all age groups enjoy Mozart’s light and rhythmic style. The composer wrote just about every kind of music that was popular in his time. He wrote over 40 symphonies. Some of them were only overtures for operas and lasted only a few minutes, but others are works that consist of 4 movements and last for half an hour. His last and most famous symphony, Nr. 41, is nicknamed the Jupiter. Apart from lighter music, Mozart produced serious works that can be found in his late concertos and symphonies. After his death a German music lover, Ludwig Köchel, collected and numbered all of Mozart’s works. This catalogue is known as the Köchelverzeichnis.

Life & Works - Franz Schubert. Narrated by: Jeremy Siepmann, Tom George, Peter Yapp, and others. The first composer to put his native Bohemia on the musical map of the world, he was invited to do the same for America. One result was the famous "New World" Symphony, which made him a household name across the globe. Writing music of irresistible color, lilt and peasant vitality, he was also a n. The recording is particularly good at exploring Mozart's very difficult relationship with Leopold, his intensely controlling father, teacher, mentor, whose influence he had to break away from to achieve his destiny.
