I was in high school when this film played in my father's small-town movie theatre, and I felt that this was more believable than most of the popular troubled teen films of that period. Of course, it featured a superb cast of youngsters like Michael Callan, Doug McClure, Warren Berlinger, and Tuesday Weld (can you today imagine Weld or McClure as teenagers?). Callan still looks like the handsome dude he plays in the film.
