Teenage Politics illustrates a still very young MxPx wanting to change their sound to more of a melodic talented sound from their previous release Pokinatcha. This CD shows they had not yet practiced enough. Tom's guitar playing is actually a high light on this CD, but everything else on the album is downhill from there. Mike's voice seems to have an extra little "whine" sound to that makes it sound real annoying. The background vocals are put in at the wrong places through out, and have the power to make a whole song sound incredibly cheesey
